How News UK is driving diversity and inclusion

News UK is one of the country’s leading media companies, home to brands including The Times, The Sun, Virgin Radio and talkSPORT. But the journalism industry is not reflective of the diverse make-up of the UK. Research has shown that Black journalists represent 0.2% of the wider industry and Asians 2.5%, while white journalists represent 94%. Here Alya Lilani talks us through how News UK is tackling this challenge: attracting new young talent, accelerating employee development, and driving inclusivity in its content, and her pivotal role as Culture and Diversity Partner.
