Submission highlights

This year’s strongest elements as indicated by our independent judges.

  • Culture & Purpose

  • Leadership

  • Employee Voice

  • Comment from the judges

This is a strong submission with a clear sense of scale, operational focus and leadership intent. The entry does a good job of linking culture to the realities of the business, particularly the fact that a large proportion of the workforce is young and often in their first job. That gives the submission credibility, and the emphasis on development pathways, frontline leadership and structured support comes through clearly. The people strategy also feels grounded in the workforce’s actual needs.

  • Comment from the judges

There’s a lot to like here! Hungry Jack’s clearly takes its people seriously and the scale of what they’re doing – 31,000+ employees, majority under 18, many in their first ever job…means getting this right actually matters in a societal sense, not just a commercial one. The Workday implementation story is the highlight for me. It’s pretty rare to see a business this size move that fast and the outcomes (24-hour hiring, 300% application uplift) are hard to argue with.
