While most companies seem to welcome the idea of hybrid working and such, the reality is that we all must be focussed on returning our businesses to full success.  This means truly discussing recovery plans in detail with what  your business needs to accomplish and how your people will do this.  As an example, as we operate hotels, the question of hybrid working for the vast majority of the business is not as simple, therefore, it is more about creating a work environment that continues to respect an employee experience that focuses on being safe, healthy and supportive addressing employee mental health and wellbeing while being at work.

The financial struggle is real as so many businesses have found themselves in hard times this past year.  I would suggest that they define an approach to reopening based on what the market needs and what they can offer from their business model.  Many are facing payroll, recruitment, supplier and other such issues and this should be taken into consideration when considering your offer.  Walk before you run and assume your business may take time to re-establish itself to levels you need; but, be sure not to over promise on what you can deliver and what your brand is.  Slow and steady is the right approach as global CV19 concerns remain.

I would also suggest that companies keep sight of government subsidies and continue to take advantage of tax advantages, grants and other measures when considering the right model to use.  While consumers are willing to come out again and pent up demand is there, how customers shop, use services and travel has truly changed.  One must be mindful of the new ways of working and life in general, and adapt their approaches accordingly.
