    “The Power of Perspective”

We are all looking for ways to motivate our people to come back, while they are looking for excuses not to, so how do we find the fulcrum that provides balance rather than the tipping point?

At Gartner it has always been about conversation and inclusion.

We began using a Behavioural Psychologist on our projects over 10 years ago so we understand the relevance of having open collaborative conversations with your key stakeholders and Associates to ascertain any gaps in thinking or expectations. Bridging these gaps helps us roll into data driven design which continues to provide key learnings.

It is all about aligning or realigning people, productivity and passion because that is the true power of perspective; understanding!

At the intersection – the pivot between digital adoption, culture, technology, and experience

    • The (changed) workplace after COVID
    • A new world of work, or not
    • Digital adoption or …
    • Culture as a cornerstone amongst the noise
    • Employee experience, always at the centre.
  • David focuses on making progress possible in difficult times. This requires the development of foundational human capabilities: purpose, adaptability, collaboration and trust. Unfortunately, many organizations value efficiency over experience, control over trust, competition over collaboration and short-term thinking over a long-term, sustainable approach. When strategies fail, it’s often because organizations and their leaders underestimate its human side.

As the founder of Otolith – an organizational transformation practice – he helps organizations to become more resilient by embracing a behavioral approach to business. He is also the author of a book on Sustainable Leadership and co-authored books about the customization of work. Next to his advisory work, he is a teacher and a certified board member.

Flexible working & finding the right fit: lessons and surprises from our own trial

Flexible working’s a hot topic. It often ranks highly – if not top – in employee surveys about desired work perks. And the results of the UK’s 4DayWeek trial showed positive impacts on productivity and wellness. So, at H&H we thought, ‘we’d like some of that’. Afterall, the science backs up the argument for more time away from the work environment and at H&H we’re big fans of behavioural science.

But as a client-servicing organisation, the balance has to be bang-on. So, join us as we share our insights about our journey trialing a nine-day-fortnight. We’ll discuss how we decided that was the right fit for us, what’s surprised us, what we’ve learnt so far, as well as some tips on what we’ve found useful for engaging employees around flexibility.

Ensuring that your people’s wellbeing remains a top priority for the organisation while enabling the team to be high performing can feel like a challenge. At same time we’re often asking our teams to focus on their own development, as well as finding time to break down silos, and build psychological safety.

‘Building a Sense of Belonging at Work’

Employees with a strong sense of belonging are three times more likely to be engaged, productive, and committed to their job.

When organizations can create an employee experience where each individual feels like they’re part of a team that accepts and values them for who they are, the result is happier, healthier employees who are reluctant to leave. A sense of belonging at work is incredibly valuable starting from an employee’s first day through to their exit interview, but belonging is difficult for organizations to create, much less measure.

Join Achievers’ Kristy Jones and Emily Pearce to learn how you can activate and measure belonging across the entire employee lifecycle. You’ll learn:

    • A practical approach to building a sense of belonging within your organization
    • How to ensure employees feel welcomed, known, included, supported, and connected from their first interaction with the organization to their last
    • Examples of initiatives that foster belonging and strategies for measuring their impact

    Development conversations: closing the gap

Today’s workforce is consumed by a need for continual development and career progression – something that LinkedIn refers to in their 2023 Workplace Learning Report as a ‘crave for learning’.
With Gallup citing development opportunities as a top influential factor when deciding whether to accept a job offer for 87% of millennials, it’s never been more important for organisations to invest in people development.
But there’s a problem: employers are not providing the kinds of development opportunities that employees need and have come to expect. As a result, we are seeing a gap in fulfilment at work, and it’s getting worse.

So how are we starting to close the gap? Join Anna Rasmussen, Founder and CEO of OpenBlend as she dives into the data behind the workplace motivators of today’s workforce, and why enabling effective 1:1 conversations that focus on an employee’s unique development needs is the key.

Why an Emotionally Intelligent Culture is Critical to Individual and Organizational Wellness

According to Forbes, 69% of employees feel the relationship with their supervisor has a greater impact on wellness than the relationship with their doctor. You can just imagine the adverse impact on those employees if supervisors are not managing their own wellness.  At the same time, research from the good people at Gallup has found that supervisors are feeling overwhelmed, burned out and stressed….as individuals. Imagine the challenges of leading an over-stressed workforce if feeling overwhelmed yourself.

In this conversation, Russell Robinson, EdD, the Chief Inspiration Officer for InspireDC and emotional intelligence guru, Faroshia Ashley, founder of Netherlands-based Emoworks, discuss the relationship between emotional intelligence and wellness at the individual and organizational levels.

How to drive loyalty and performance with more meaningful recognition

The right kind of employee recognition is proven to increase engagement, motivation, and performance—all of which are critical in a tight economy and labor market. The problem? Based on our work with hundreds of organizations across industries and our unique experiences-based approach, we’ll walk through a step-by-step framework you can steal to drive real loyalty and performance results from your recognition efforts.

There is No ‘Back to Normal’

The context and work itself have changed. We have weathered a global pandemic, political polarization increases, technology opportunities and risks are accelerating, teams are distributed, trust in leaders is breaking down, demographics are shifting. Too many people are frustrated, stressed, exhausted, or just bored. By and large, employee experience efforts have lost sight of “the employee” and failed to deliver a great, holistic, integrated “experience” for people.
Listen to Dan discuss ways to create an Epic Work Experience filled with meaning, clarity and connection. This creates a virtuous cycle between people and companies.

“Decoding Excellence: 7 Key Elements of an Inspiring Organizational Culture”

In my new book, The Power of Company Culture (2nd Edition), I’ve distilled the essence of what makes or breaks organizational culture. Culture Matters: It’s the invisible force that guides behavior, decisions, and performance in organizations. Time & Effort: Channeling your energies in the right direction can lead to cultural transformation. Employee Engagement: It’s not just about satisfaction. It’s about emotional investment in the company’s vision. The culture is a sum of shared values, beliefs, and norms. It is not enough to pay enough to culture, we need to focus our energy in the right places.

“What can EX learn from CX? Creating a unified experience from employer brand through employee success”

The best consumer brands are masters of experience. They define who they are, how they’ll behave in the market, and act consistently in all experiences that consumers have with them. That work starts from before a future customer is explicitly aware of the company to well past the time they make their last purchase. The same should be true for great employer brands. To create an experience that bridges the journey from before a person is even a candidate to being an employee (and beyond), it starts with creating an EX vision and defining the characteristics that bring this vision to life in all five phases of employee experience.
In this session, we’ll be covering:
    • Why organizations need a unified EX that goes beyond the bounds of traditional employer brand and engagement approaches
    • The keys to creating a great vision and defining characteristics of your EX
    • How to think about your EX vision consistently over all five EX domains

In this session, you will learn:

    • Why focusing on a Recognition strategy is critical in today’s workplaces and how it can be leveraged through economic uncertainty

    • Proven effective methods and practical solutions to creating a culture of appreciation
